Scope
This policy covers the Konjac website and Konjac applications for iPhone and iPad. It explains what information is handled, why it is used, when another service receives it, how long it is retained, and the choices available to you.
The Konjac build prepared for the initial App Store release is ad-free. If a future app update introduces advertising, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that update is distributed.
Website
This website does not set application cookies, run advertising tags, or use third-party analytics scripts. Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and may process request information such as IP address, device or browser details, requested URL, time, and security signals to deliver and secure the service under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
The Konjac developer does not use website request data to build advertising profiles.
Camera, notes, and iCloud
Konjac accesses the camera only after iOS permission is granted and uses frames when you invoke OCR features. Recognized text, translations, note metadata, and optional OCR crop attachments are stored on your device.
If iCloud sync is enabled, notes and app settings may be stored in your private iCloud/CloudKit database and synchronized through your Apple account. Apple processes that data under the Apple Privacy Policy. The developer does not operate a separate Konjac account or note-storage server.
Optional OCR and translation providers
You may choose OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or Google Gemini for OCR or translation. When you make such a request, Konjac sends the image or text needed for that operation directly from your device to the selected provider. The provider may process request content, network information, and service diagnostics according to its own terms and privacy policy: OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
You supply provider API keys. Konjac stores them in Apple Keychain on your device and uses them only to authenticate the provider requests you enable. The developer does not receive those keys or the request content through a Konjac backend.
You can avoid external AI processing by selecting supported Apple on-device OCR and translation options.
Advertising
The current Konjac App Store build contains no advertisements, Google Mobile Ads, Google's User Messaging Platform, or advertising SDK data processing. Advertising remains disabled for the initial iPhone App Store review.
Sharing and protection
Konjac shares information only with services you enable or that are required for the current build: Apple for optional iCloud/on-device platform services, your selected OCR or translation provider, and Cloudflare for website delivery.
Konjac uses iOS sandboxing, Apple Keychain for provider credentials, HTTPS for provider requests, and private CloudKit storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and each third party is responsible for its own safeguards.
Retention and deletion
Local notes and settings remain until you delete them or remove the app, subject to iOS backup and deletion behavior. You can edit or delete notes in Konjac and remove provider keys in Settings. iCloud data remains according to your Apple account settings and can be managed through your Apple devices and account.
Optional provider, Cloudflare, and Apple data is retained under each service's policy and your account choices. Konjac does not keep a separate server copy of notes, camera images, or provider keys.
Your choices
You may deny camera permission, use on-device providers, disable iCloud sync in Apple settings, remove external-provider keys, delete notes, or uninstall the app.
Withdrawing permission may prevent the related feature from working, but does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Children
Konjac is not directed to children under 13. Do not configure an external provider for a child unless you are authorized to do so and the applicable provider terms and local law permit that use.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when Konjac's features, builds, or service providers change. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be published here before the affected feature is distributed.
